as for right now....

...please disregard my last post.

Busy busy busy

Last night I pulled out my brand new sewing machine I got for my birthday from my wonderful mother in law! And placed it on my AWESOME craft corner table provided by my glorious husband, and reconstructed a skirt.
IMG_5456
I have had this skirt for about 3 years and always hated the waist band in it, so one night I pulled out me seam ripper and took off the waist line and then it sat around for about 2 weeks, then last night I bought a new shirt from Nordstroms Rack that I thought would look cute with that skirt, I made a quick trip to Joann's and bought elastic and thread. I started in it around 10pm, and figured I would just start it last night and finish it today. I finished the elastic waist band way fast so I decided to just start pinning the skirt around the waist band and that went a lot faster then I thought it would also, so I finished the reconstruction of the skirt in about 30 minutes. I was very proud of myself. I decided after that I should of taken before and after pictures, but I will do that next time.

My Blog :(

My blog is experiencing technical difficulties and most the pictures posted from the last 6 months have been deleted. I am trying to fix a few of my posts but not even close to all of them will get fixed :( this is sad because I was just thinking the other day about how my blog is kinda a journal and there are a lot of things on it I never want to lose. :(

Josh made me another blog a few months ago and I haven't really used it but I figure this is a better then ever to switch over. So here you go AshleeBashlee.com my new blog.

I am here in Florida...

and its definitley not the Florida that you think of when anyone mentions Florida. Fort White, Florida (aka Cave Country) is in the red neck woods of Florida. There are dozens of beautiful springs that have underwater cave systems, that crazy people scuba dive in. The water in the springs is cold at first but it is so much better then sweating to death in the 100 degree weather with 100% humidity.

Pistachio Crusted Chicken

Josh and I got a HUGE bag of pistachios from Costco, one while eating a hand full of them a thought came to me 'pistachio chicken sounds really good!' I googled it and found a recipe that seemed easy and I had all the ingredients except the Dijon mustard but Megan gave me a little of hers! Josh had spent the day in Wendover with Michael taking an advanced pistol class. I had dinner ready when he got home.

After dinner Josh showed me what he learned in his class!

Pistachio Crusted Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 1-inch strips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. Mix together pistachios and bread crumbs in a shallow bowl. In a separate bowl, stir together Dijon mustard, olive oil, honey, salt and pepper until smooth. Dip chicken into Dijon mixture to coat, then coat with bread crumbs. Place onto prepared baking sheet.
  3. Place into preheated oven and turn the oven down to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Bake until the chicken is no longer pink and the pistachio coating is golden brown, about 20 minutes.
