Our Nest!

So have been thinking for a while now that I wanted to change my blog name, since my blog address has my maiden name in it, which I didn't even keep when I change my name to Thornton. I also wanted it to be more of a family blog not a personal blog even though I doubt my husband will make an appearance. So the other day I decided on the name The Thornton's Nest, I checked to see if it was available and it was, so I own it now. Yay! So I am not using it yet, I am trying to decide if I should move my blog or just change the name. If I move it I will keep this one up for a while with a link to the new one.

Baby Lime!

I would like to introduce the world to our baby Lime. I am officially 11 weeks pregnant with a baby, about the size of a Lime! Most everyone probably suspected it, or knew it, but I tried my hardest to keep it a secret. Its hard to keep a secret when you are puking all the time and just feel like crap, plus I wore these most of the time to make the nausea go away (not very discreet).

I always carry a bag of snacks with me at all time, usually containing Blue Diamond Almond Nut-Thins Hint of Salt flavor, my water bottle, a Capri sun or Propel (both kiwi-strawberry flavor), some kind of rice cake, a couple bags of fruit snacks, big red gum and pink wintergreen mints (my mom said that she would swear by these when she was pregnant). Most people said that if they just keep eating throughout the whole day they would feel fine, for me it didn’t matter, I threw up if I ate or if I didn’t eat. Our Dr. told Megan to take Zyrtec (the allergy medication) To make her nausea go away and she swore by it, so she had me to try it, I honestly don’t know if the Zyrtec and my bracelets helped at all because I still got sick, but I still continue to use them because if they are working I wouldn’t want to see what happened without them. My morning sickness started around 4 ½ weeks and was really bad until I was 8 weeks. At 8 weeks it slowed down a little and I was only throwing up a few times a week instead of a few times a day. After the morning sickness slowed down the pregnancy fatigue set in. I am generally just a tired person, but there is no way to explain how tired you get when there is a baby growing inside of you. This isn’t supposed to be a complaining blog, just letting everyone know how I have been, I have been keeping away from blogging and updating my facebook too much because there isn’t too much going on that doesn’t revolve around this baby!

Being pregnant and having Celiac Disease is really not fun at all. There isn’t a lot of choices of things to eat anyways and sometimes I just want a sandwich from kneaders, but right now is definitely not a good time to deprive my body of nutrients, I want this baby to be as healthy as I can.

I had my 10 week appointment on Monday. I was super nervous for it, I actually cried and threw up on the drive to the dr. Everything went great. They found the baby’s heartbeat really fast with the Doppler machine, it was 163 beats per min! The Dr said that everything looks great and everything is right on track! I wish I had a ultra sound picture or something to show you, but we will just have to wait.

Benelli!

Josh and I got a puppy a week ago yesterday!  I should of blogged about him before, but you know how I am.  He is an english springer spaniel and is 6 weeks old.  Josh has wanted a puppy for awhile now and he finally talked me into it even though somedays I am still not very happy about it.  He is going to be a hunting dog and he is named Benelli after a shot gun.  He is very cute and learned how to sleep in his kennel all night pretty fast and hasn't had too many accident in the house, so we got very lucky with that.  But boy does he like to chew on everything he can find, including me.
